Take a Walk with Hazel

Hazel is a member of the Clerkenwell and Islington Guiding Association living in Camden.

For a number of years Hazel has shared her passion for London by writing a London blog, fuelled by working for Boris Johnson at Greater London Authority during the Olympics. From a hobby Hazel’s passion grew giving her blog a physical presence by moving it onto the streets, providing London guided walks and private walking tours to clients. “I get the best of both worlds as my hobby and passion is my work. The reward? Being able to share my interest and seeing people really engage with that is a real treat.”
Her walking tours are engaging and enjoyable, exploring themes and digging a little deeper – bringing history to life. “I love a good story. I share factual accounts of people who have lived and loved in London, who used its dark corners to hide from justice and of those who have contributed to making London the world city it is today.”

City Hunt takes you along a trail through Bermondsey, where you seek out answers about the cultural history of the area hidden in nooks and crannies. You’ll find out about the leathery past of this area of London, explore the settings of some of Dickens’ tales and find out about the characters who once walked these streets.

A special kids map will be available from our start station located in Leathermarket Park as part of Bermondsey Street Festival, with fun and accessible clues. Adults are encouraged to use our mobile website with instructions on how to use this to be found at the start station too. A range of exciting prizes are up for grabs for all the top players.
